Titus Davis
Snowflake and rain geometric design on a black and white jar

Titus Davis was born into Acoma Pueblo in May, 1985. As he grew up he learned how to make pottery from his mother, Darla Davis, his grandmother, Rachel James, and his sister, Alicia Chino. Titus has been potting on his own since 2012 and already has a piece on display in the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, DC.

Titus is known for his flowing curved lines and near-perfect geometric backgrounds. Add his precise black lines to classic Acoma white clay and Titus creates yet another dimension in his work. His blend of traditional and contemporary design has led to the creation of his Winter Rain and Half Moon original design, a design he loves to paint as it sets his work well apart from other Acoma potters. Titus' work is shown in several galleries in Santa Fe and Albuquerque and on Acoma Pueblo. He hasn't participated in any major shows yet but his daughter went home from Santa Fe Indian Market in 2018 with a First Place ribbon for some of her art. (Titus says his kids inspire him more than anyone or anything else.)

When we asked Titus what he might like the world to know about him he said this: "If you share your love and respect, the world will give it to you in return."
