Geometric design and organic opening on a black on black on black jar

Born in 1993, Moroni Quezada is the son of potters Rito Talavera and Lydia Quezada. Juan Quezada Sr. was his uncle.

Growing up in pottery-making household, Moroni began working with clay when he was just 7. He eventually learned the entire process from his parents, including the black-on-black-on-black process that his mother made famous.

Moroni forms and paints his own pots because, in his words, "It's fun." Then he also admits to enjoying the painting part most.
