Efren Ledezma Veloz says he learned to make pots in 1995, learning from his brother Gerardo. However, his pots more resemble those of his neighbor Manuel "Manolo" Rodriguez than those of his brother.

Efren often paints on a white or light clay body, decorating it with complex repetitive geometric designs in black and red. Sometimes he superimposes bees, birds or reptiles in a contrasting color over the background. Sometimes those birds, bees and reptiles superimposed on each other are the main design.
