Clayton Lucero
A nativity set

Clayton Lucero was born to Diane Fragua and Joseph Fragua of Jemez Pueblo in December, 1985. He might have grown up in a house full of potters but he wasn't interested in making pottery himself until he was out of high school. Then he went to work studying with his parents and learning the traditional ways.

Today, Clayton tells us he's happiest when making storytellers, bears and nativities. He gets his inspiration from his parents: how they see life and how they transpose that view into their pottery. He says that has contributed to him being an outgoing man with a good sense of humor. He works hard to convey that with his works.
